A history that lives in us

Our roots reach back millennia

Long before today’s borders and states, ancient cultures flourished on the lands of present-day Ukraine and left behind a unique artistic heritage. A special place among them belongs to the Trypillian culture — one of the most striking archaeological cultures of ancient Europe, which existed through the 6th–4th millennia BCE.

Today these ancient signs take on a new resonance. We cannot turn back time, but we can keep the memory of those who lived before us — discover their art and feel a bond with the land, its history and its cultural origins.

At the centre of the composition is a spiral within a circle. In the spirals of Trypillian ornament, researchers see the flow of time, rebirth and the cycle of life.
